Two years ago I decided to completely change my lifestyle. I stopped smoking, eating junk food, and drinking beer on a daily basis. A year and a half ago I decided to start hitting the weights hard (after 6 months of heavy cardio) I always had a idea in my head about how I wanted to look and I set that goal with the challenge of achieving it by one years time. I don’t necessarily agree with comparing myself to others (Brad Pitt in snatch) but more-so to strive to achieve a goal. Yes there is some vanity involved but I am the healthiest I’ve ever been in my entire life and I feel amazing, that coupled with the stress relief the gym gives me I can’t see myself living any other way from now on. Being disciplined in the gym and in the kitchen, translates to many other parts of my life and I’ve become a stronger individual not only physically but also mentally, in my personal relationships, my stress management, self confidence, and work ethic ect… I’ve had my ups and my downs. 6 months in I hit some snags and had to have some pretty invasive bone surgery and it set me back about 6 months, but that didn’t stop me! I recovered, and started at it again!
Today I realized I think I finally reached my first of many goals in my health and fitness endeavors (I think I might actually be bigger than brad). I’ve always been able to get my body fat down to this level but I was never able to keep the mass and strength I had when I was heavier. I’ve finally kept on my muscle mass and cut my fat down to reasonable levels. And I’ve done this all on a vegetarian diet.
1. Be in the best shape physically possible by the time I’m 30
2. Possibly start on the path to become a health and fitness coach and/or trainer
3. Achieve even more, but as a vegan? I want to show people that the impossible is possible.
I’m writing this post because the way I started taking care of my body changed my life! I want to share my experience and get others excited to be happy and healthy! I want to help people and I think it’s becoming my new passion in life. I still have so much left to learn and It may take me a few more years to get to the level of being able to professionally help people but I hope this post may motivate others to help themselves.
